1. About Works Past and Present
Lecture by Rodney Graham at the AA School of Architecture
1996
Rodney Graham presents a lecture providing a chronological overview of his work, starting in the mid-1970s.
Many of Graham’s works explore the concept of the ‘loop’ – the continuous repetition of motifs that evolve into endless, sometimes elusive, sequences. This lecture guides viewers through the intricate web of associative thoughts that shaped his artistic practice and gave rise to numerous works.
Among other insights, Graham provides a detailed account of the creation of several works featured in the current exhibition 'Sumptuous Allegories of Nothingness', including Lenz (1983), The System of Landor’s Cottage. A Pendant to Poe’s Last Story (1987) and Graham's series of works related to Richard Wagner's Parsifal.

2. Jan Vercruysse
A film by Jef Cornelis
1990
A reflective film portrait in which Vercruysse discusses what it means to be an artist, the relationship between the artist and their work, and the role of the viewer.
The film revolves around a conversation between Vercruysse and an unseen interviewer, Jef Cornelis (1948-2018), interspersed with footage from the Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven from the same year. Through this film, Cornelis offers a unique and thoughtful personal portrait of Vercruysse, who avoided giving interviews during his lifetime.
